Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Dolce Vita Italian School. By accessing our website or booking a lesson, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“student” or “user”) and Dolce Vita Italian School (“we”, “us”, or “our”), accessible at dolcevitaitaliano.com.
By creating an account or booking a lesson, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old (or have parental consent if under 18) and agree to these Terms in full.
2. Our services
Dolce Vita Italian School provides:
- →Live online Italian lessons in 1-on-1 and small group formats.
- →A free Italian placement test to determine your CEFR level.
- →Access to lesson recordings, materials, and vocabulary tools.
- →Student and teacher portals for managing bookings and progress.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our services with reasonable notice.
3. Lesson bookings
Lessons are booked through our scheduling system. A booking is confirmed once you receive a confirmation email. Please arrive on time — if you are more than 10 minutes late without notice, the lesson may be marked as completed and the session forfeited.
Teachers are assigned by the school based on your level, goals, and availability. You may request a specific teacher, subject to their availability.
4. Payment
Payments are processed securely via Stripe. Prices are displayed in Euros (€) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. By completing payment, you authorise us to charge the amount shown at checkout.
Lesson packages are non-transferable. If a price change occurs after your purchase, your existing package will not be affected.
Accepted payment methods
Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) via Stripe.
5. Cancellations and rescheduling
We understand that plans change. Our policy is:
- More than 24 hours noticeCancel or reschedule free of charge. The lesson credit is returned to your account.
- Less than 24 hours noticeCancellations made with fewer than 24 hours notice will forfeit the lesson.
- Teacher cancellationIf your teacher cancels, we will offer a full reschedule or credit the lesson to your account.
- Technical issuesIf a lesson cannot proceed due to technical problems on our side, the lesson will be rescheduled or credited.
6. Refunds
Lesson packages are generally non-refundable once lessons have commenced. If you have purchased a package and have not yet used any lessons, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase.
To request a refund, contact us at info@dolcevitaschool.com with your order details. Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days.
7. Lesson package expiry
Lesson packages are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Any unused lessons after this period will expire and are non-refundable. Extensions may be granted in exceptional circumstances at our discretion — please contact us if you need more time.
8. Student conduct
We expect all students to:
- Treat teachers and other students with respect.
- Not record lessons without the teacher’s explicit consent.
- Not share lesson materials or recordings without our permission.
- Attend lessons in a quiet, appropriate environment.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts of students who violate these guidelines, without refund.
9. Intellectual property
All content on this website — including lesson materials, course descriptions, images, and brand assets — is owned by Dolce Vita Italian School or our licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.
Your personal data and any content you submit (messages, feedback) remain yours. By submitting feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it to improve our services.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Our services are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that you will achieve a specific level of Italian fluency within a particular timeframe. Learning outcomes depend on individual effort and consistency.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dolce Vita Italian School shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount paid for the lessons in question.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy. For students in the United Kingdom, your statutory consumer rights under UK consumer law are not affected by these Terms. For students in the EU, EU consumer protection law applies.
Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Italy, unless mandatory local law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email of any significant changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of our services after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
